Badges can be used in a number of different ways.  For example, they can be used to recognize an individual's accomplishments, communicate success, or to highlight a persons qualifications or special skills.  


Only administrators can create and apply badges. Badges will be displayed on the user's profile and on any post they create.  Users that have multiple badges can choose which badge they'd like displayed on their posts.


Creating a Badge

  • Search for badges in the search bar on the Navigation menu
  • Click create new badge
  • If you already have an image, select add image and upload the file or enter the URL
  • If you do not have an image, select design icon
  • Type the name of the image or browse through the list of available images
  • To change either the icon or background color, enter the colors HEX value or click on the color tile  
  • If you are using the color selector, click the circle in upper left corner of the color pallet and drag it onto the pallet 
  • Now, click on a color on the rainbow bar.  You can drag the circle on the pallet to change the color shade
  • After adjusting the colors, enable the spin option if you want the badge to rotate
  • Other settings can be modified by selecting one of the choices in the drop down list
  • Once you've finished designing the icon, click done 
  • Enter a name and purpose for the badge - The name and purpose will be visible to all users when hovering over the badge
  • If badges are going to be applied manually by an administrator, enable manual
  • If badges are going to be assigned by an attribute on the users profile, enable user attributes
  • To have badges automatically assigned by user attributes, the attribute must exist on the users profiles.
  • Select the attribute from the list of available attributes 
  • Enter the attribute value  
  • Optionally, you can add a ring of color around a users profile icon when a badge is displayed. Below is a default profile icon vs. one with that has a gold ring and badge displayed.  
  • To add a ring of color around the users profile icon, enable add optional highlight to profile 
  • Using the color selector as described above, select the color
  • Click save
